Fracture Surgery

The goal of fracture treatment is to allow the bone to heal and reattach. Often this is done by immobilizing the bone for several months using a cast and splint. The more severe the fracture, the more surgery will be recommended. Open or comminuted fractures require surgery to ensure that the bone is fully restored and can safely support your weight. Surgical repair requires the use of metal rods, screws, or plates to position the bone or align it as it heals.
